For this blog post I'm excited to share some photos from a recent plein air painting adventure in Laurelhurst Park with friends. Always a pleasure painting with Martha & Cameron! Also thank you Dave for providing musical accompaniment by the waters edge.
Let's take a look at the palette that helped create this painting
From left to right: Cool White, Portland Cool Grey, Portland Warm Grey, Radiant Red, Cadmium Red Light, Cadmium Lemon
Green Gold, Olive Green, Phthalo Emerald, Ultramarine Violet + a special Gamblin color, "House Red" 2019 Vintage
Cool White is used for all my tint colors in the palette
Three days later I returned to re-work aspects of the painting. Edits, mainly knocking back the background with a softer gradient while also rendering the folds and planes of the fungi caps with cleaner definition.
