        For re-working an old painting I typically choose Neo Megilp Painting Medium. First is the therapeutic motion of placing a thin layer into the areas I desire a transparent glaze. Next is the action of gradually adding color to the brush and then work subtle transitions of pigment. This week I was working in a jewel tone spectrum over an under-painting that was dominate with warm cobalt teals. The dueling of warm vs cool adds a dimension that was missing before.  Purple mixture: Quinacridone Magenta Ultramarine Blue Ultramarine Violet Plus hints of Radiant Magenta, Radiant Turquoise + Phthalo Turquoise     Portrait of the artist, demonstrating monotype printmaking during the recent PDX Open Studio tour ! I hope you enjoy the following photos from this juicy printing session.         Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden remains one of the best places for wildlife viewing. Not only there there a variety of fowl birds & exotic herons, but also other critters like squirrels & rabbits romping all over. I spied a red hawk, but they were too crafty to be captured on film. By October the Rhododendron flowers have wilted, but there still remains an abundance of beauty. There is inspiration to be gathered from geometric patterns of pyramid trees besides the neighboring golf coarse across the pond / marsh. Enjoy some photos from my last excursion.
